Unfortunately, we do not have any MPN specialists in Atlantic Canada. When I was diagnosed with PV in 2019, I had to travel to Toronto to see a specialist. Can anyone recommend an MPN Specialist in the Vaughan or Toronto are? My husband was recently diagnosed with PV. His JAK2 genetic test was Positive. I’ve heard from others that he still needs a bone marrow biopsy. His Haematologist has never mentioned this. Is this necessary or not?

Can anyone recommend hematologist in Edmonton area that specializes in jak2/tet2/srsf2 positive/normal chromosome karyotype pre-pmf with CML/AML-positive C-kit CD-markers immunotyping,but less then 2% of blasts. Mom seeing hematologist- but I see MPNs are not his specialty, but CLL/HAIRYCELL/LYMPHOMAS. Hydroxyeura is not working for reducing WBC nor Neutrophils- as well mom is experiencing elevated monocytes in peripheral blood and ocassionally basophila. I am worried about my mom.

I have PV and I see a hematology oncologist. How do I know if my dr is a MPN specialist? I don’t know if there are any doctors that specialize in PV in Saskatchewan but would be willing to travel to see one. Is there a list I can provide my dr with so she can send in a referral?
